Adopted 4 June 1992. Blue is the common colour of the Turkic peoples. Here it stands for the endless skies over all people as a symbol of well-being, tranquility, peace and unity. The sun and a golden eagle represent the love of freedom and lofty thoughts and ideals of the Kazakhs. Along the hoist is a typical national ornament.
